1 year stats

Leah had her 1 year check up last week. She got 3 shots, had some blood drawn, and got looked over. She is perfect.

Weight: 22lb 2oz - 61% percentile.
Height: 30" - 70% percentile.
Head circumference: Over 90% (she has a big head).

The pediatrician said verbally she was 3-6 months ahead of the norm (which also means Leah is throwing tantrums at a 18 month level).

Showing off her battle scars.

Birthday Present

Chris and I found some birthday presents in the front closet that we forgot to give to Leah. The big winner was this Melissa and Doug maze (Melissa and Doug toys are the best!). Leah has played with it everyday. We've designated it an "upstairs" toy, because it has the potential to be dangerous!

Reading

Leah loves reading. She brings me books constantly, and when I open it to read it, she gets really excited. Here she is reading with her favorite stuffed animal, Addy.

So High

Do you see me, Dada?

Friends...

Leah having fun with Tea. They both had the same dress--love the Plymouth Art Fair!

Good-Bye Summer...

We were sad to say good-bye to summer. Momma is getting used to being back in the classroom. Sass is happy with her new nanny. Momma and Leah have enjoyed sharing some school week lunches together (2 this week!).

El Azteco

We went up to El Azteco in East Lansing over the Labor Day holiday. Leah enjoyed the guac, as usual.
It's been a really busy week this week. I actually had to take Leah back to work with me once. Being back to work has been an adjustment for everyone. Leah has been up every hour-hour and a half most nights--another molar is cutting, and I can't believe the others haven't yet. She is requiring full Mama attention most work nights. Once my classroom is up and running smoothly, I should be able to start coming home for lunch on a regular basis.

Piggie Tails

Look what we found on our back steps. Leah really wanted to touch it. I let her, but she was a little rough with him. I had to pry the bug out of Lennie's hands. I think he may be a "special needs" bug now.

First Birthday Party

Leah had an amazing party. Thank you to everyone who came or sent gifts. Leah has a wonderful circle of family and friends.

Leah's First Birthday

We celebrated Leah's first birthday by taking her to Dominos Farms. We thought she'd enjoy seeing all the animals. We bought some carrots (so we'd have an 'in' with them), and set out to meet some new friends. Leah was very interested in the pig, until Daddy put her down and they were eye level. Leah got very upset and had to be removed from the barn. We regrouped outside, and Leah enjoyed the rest of the visit. She enjoyed the animals and the quality time with Momma and Dadda.

This was a very busy day. That morning I interviewed in Plymouth-Canton, and got the job later that afternoon. I am very excited to be working close enough to home that I can come home for lunch daily. My new school will also be Sassy's elementary school!

More Petting Zoo

Pointing to all the duckies...After the pig scare, Sassy needed a break. We went outside to regroup. Sassy was very interested in the ducks and turkey-like creature.

Leah liked the Alpaca the best. It was the only animal that she was brave enough to feed and touch. She got a stuffed Alpaca as a souviner of her first birthday celebration at Dominos Farms.
