All Eastered Out

Then and Now

A year goes by too quickly. I can't believe how much Leah has grown. After every stage of her life, I get so sad thinking of my baby growing up so fast. But, I seem to love the next stage better than the one before! Happy Easter!

Candy Hunt

Leah has quite the sweet tooth. She loves cookies and candy (especially mini m and m's). We advised the Easter Bunny to only hide a few eggs or Sassy might put herself into a sugar coma. She immediately ate the contents of 2 of the 3 eggs. I had to hide the 3rd egg when she wasn't looking. Daddy especially loves the last picture here because you can see the candy juice coming through her teeth as she says, "cchhheeeeeesssssseeeee!"

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny heard that Lili was a good girl this year, so he gave her an exceptional Easter Basket! The big winners were the Sesame Street Pop Up book, the Ernie shirt, and Elmo with bunny ears--I seem to be noticing a theme...

Leah was excited to look through her basket. She took things out one at a time, played with them a little, and moved on to the next item.

Doggie Treat

I asked Leah if she wanted to give the doggies a treat that Auntie Renee left. She was very eager to give the treat to Cooper herself. After giving him 1/2 of the treat, she decided that she'd like to try the delicious treat. She loved it. She ate the rest of it; we couldn't get it away from her! Thankfully the treat was an organic, all-natural treat.

Friday Fun

Leah dressed up Cooper with all her jewelery. I asked if she wanted her picture taken with Cooper, and she said "GNNO!". She did want to take a picture with Daddy, though.

Cottage Fun

Every time we're outside Leah makes a mad dash towards her playhouse. She has a lot of fun ringing the doorbell, talking on the phone, and inviting you into the playhouse only to close the door/shutters in your face when you get close (then laughing). I wish the weather had been nicer this week so we could have spent more time outdoors.

Good-Bye Mustard

We decided we couldn't live with the mustard colored living room and kitchen any longer. We had our trusty painter Kevin back out to our casa. We also decided to have crown molding added in the living room. Here is the living room before (the lovely flowers were from Chris from my birthday).

Day One: Crown molding added. Leah had a lot of fun jumping around the living room with all the furniture pushed to the middle.

Day Two: Painted! The color is called "Avenue Tan" but it came out a subtle green/gray/smoke. I think the crown molding really classes up the joint!

Stay tuned for pictures of the kitchen!

Super Cooper

Cooper, Auntie Renee's dog/baby, has been staying with us for the week. Leah thinks he's just right sized. Leah likes to tell Cooper "NO!" which sounds more like, "GNNO!" when Cooper takes one of her precious Sesame Street toys. Unfortunately this experience has allowed Lili to realize she can say "GNNO!" to other things, too. I think I've heard "GNNO!" 10,000 times this week!

Watching the Duckies together.

Leah helps walk Cooper every night. She helps to hold the leash during every walk.

I had to put this picture up because it is the LAST picture of the ugly mustard walls!

New Playhouse

I've been trolling craigslist for over a year to find a playhouse for Leah. I refused to pay retail (even sale retail) for the playhouse--they can be crazy expensive. I wasn't in love with the colors of this playhouse, but I loved the big, open windows and doggy door/secret exit in the back. On Saturday we drove to Clinton Township (total BFE) to pick it up.

How cute is Daddy putting this together? What would we do without him?

Leah really enjoyed the play phone. The lady we bought it from said she had several inquires into the phone (I guess it's pretty rare that these houses retain the phone). Apparently the phone is worth a lot of money.

Leah really enjoyed using the doggy door. Unfortunately Ernie got quite dirty from the escapades and needed a bath for the 3rd straight week.

More Playhouse Fun

We moved the playhouse to our patio. Leah looks out lovingly at it everyday. She really loves it!

Random Fun

Leah has been asking to go outside. She'll look out the window and say, "out, pppplllleeeeaaasssee?" How can you say no to that face?

Park

"Mama, do you know what would be more fun than pushing me on the swing? You get into that baby swing next to me. See? It's right there!"

Dominos Farms

We decided to spend the day outside on Sunday to celebrate the warm weather. We went back to Dominos Farms. Leah really liked the small animals, especially the bunnies and ducks. The barn was a little loud for her, and she didn't care for the bigger animals. Many of the animals in the barns had their babies with them. Chris and I thought that was sweet, even if Leah didn't appreciate it.
This bunny was Lili's favorite. She loved him so much, she even offered him Grover (her second favorite). She might have offered him Ernie, but he fell in the mud and had to be nonchalantly tucked into my purse.

Leah was so excited to put on her sandals. The minute she saw them she lit up and started her happy chirps.
