We've been busy...

Drawing Leah has got really into using her markers. Everyday she colors. She is much better at staying in the lines. She really likes playing cruise director and telling Mommy and Daddy which colors to use and what parts of the picture to color. If you contradict her, she'll think for a minute and usually say, "Hmmm, that's fines. Use this next!" Daddy says she's like a dog with a bone with the below bat picture. Leah, Daddy, and Mommy all worked on this picture together. We colored every possible part of the picture. Leah just keeps going over her work again and again. If you ask her to turn the page she'll say, "I finishin'!"in a sassy tone.
Potty Training Daddy took off work for a day during Spring Break to attempt potty training. At first, Leah was very proud of her big girl unders. She had 2 small accidents in the morning (I think she was used to just going in small amounts throughout the day) and 1 big accident before her nap. She got very upset about the pee pee on the floor and cried and cried. Daddy and I sang "Accidents Happen" from Elmo's Potty Time and tried to assure her that it was okay, and we would try again. Leah just seemed think she could hold in her pee pee forever. After 2 days of her going 7+ hours between potty breaks (despite massive amounts of choice beverages in her sippy), sitting with her for hours on the potty (she liked to be hugged while trying to go--which sometimes took many, many failed attempts before she actually used the potty--which happened all of twice in  3 days) we called it a day on potty training. We were afraid she was going to develop a UTI or get a serious complex. Even 2 weeks later she'll ask "I pee pee in my diaper?" like she can't believe her luck that we've let go of the potty. I still think she's holding it in more often then she should, though. We will tackle potty training again this summer. The important thing is that Sassy is ready.
Sleeping Daddy and I are seeing noticeable improvements in Sassy's sleep. There are more and more days where she will wake up only 1 time during the night, and even a few "slept through the night" nights over the past month. She enjoys sleeping in the pink bed, and for the most part, asks to sleep in the pink bed when she is ready for bed. Now that I am hugely pregnant, we've stopped rocking her to bed (I miss it, but it was getting so, so hard). Now, Daddy and I lay down with Sassy and she falls asleep on her own. We are hoping that she will be open to just Daddy laying down with her when Juliet gets here.
Finishing Gymnastics - Sassy's last gymnastic class is right now. Daddy took her to every class but one this session since it was getting too hard for me to be an active participant. Unfortunately, Sassy is not quite as well behaved for Daddy as she is for Mommy in public. Sassy has had some unfortunate reports from Daddy. In all, she really enjoys gymnastics. I told her today was her last session, and we were going to take a break for a while. She replied, "Yeah, let's take a break from dance class and go to the playground more." I couldn't agree more!

Easter Brunch

We joined Aunt Renee and family for Brunch at The Courthouse Grill in Plymouth. It was a wonderful experience. We had wonderful food and company, and Sass got the opportunity to dress in her finest.
I was trying to suck in my belly in the above picture. I wonder why? I should own being 34 weeks pregnant.

Easter Bunny Bounty

The Easter Bunny was good to Sassy this year. She got: new Elmo shoes, Play-Doh stampers, 4 new bath books, new Seasame Street flashcards, new markers, a new coloring book, a flashlight, 4 new books, a bunny rubber duckie, and bubble gum chapstick. WOW! She was really into the new markers--she is still our artist.

Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny left eggs all over our living room. First, Sass wanted to open them and eat them all one at a time. Then, she wanted to consolidate the candy into one large egg. She finally got it and collected them all lickety split when I pointed out her basket sitting on the table.

She said, "I EAT THESE?" in a hopeful tone. I don't think she believed we would let her eat candy for breakfast.

Easter Eve

Leah wore her Easter Bunny jammies in honor of the Easter Bunny. When we asked what she wanted in her basket, she would respond, "CANDY!"

Easter Bunny Eggs

Leah was really excited to decorate some "Easter Bunny Eggs". She took it very seriously, and decorated the eggs for over an hour. She was not happy when it was time to stop.
Don't the eggs look great? We won't be eating them, though, because a) hard boiled eggs sound gross and b) they are more like "soft" boiled eggs--apparently 5 minutes isn't quite long enough.

Egg Hunt

I told Sass that there would be eggs filled with candy. She grabbed the first egg she saw, opened it, and said "where's the candy?" It turned out the hunt worked by collecting eggs and exchanging them for a goodie bag.
Sassy still had fun, though. She wasn't sure if she liked the tunnel or finding eggs better. Sassy tried to get Lukey to give her his eggs. He wasn't having it. Sassy's favorite part was the big lollipop that was in her treat bag. She loved it!My favorite part of the day, though, came at the end of the day. I was pretty uncomfortable (being 33 weeks pregnant) and was having some serious back pain. We were all resting in our room when Sass and Daddy decided to go downstairs. Sassy asked her usual "Mommy come?". I told her I would try, but Mommy was really sore. Sass stood at the end of the bed and cheered me on, "C'mon, Mommy. You can do it. All by yourself. C'mon. Good job *awkward pause*....moving. Good job moving, Mommy." She's come a long way from crying and tantruming anytime I was having pregnancy pains.

Getting Ready for an Egg Hunt

Sassy was super excited for her first egg hunt. I have no idea if she even knew what to expect. But all Saturday morning she kept saying, "Go see Baby Lukey and go on an egg hunt?" (she still refuses to acknowledge baby Anna).
Sass has been really into dancing lately. Any time music comes on, she gets the beat in her feet.

The Beginnings of a Nursery

Daddy (re)assembled the crib in the nursery. We also hung some of the paintings we ordered that match Juliet's bedding set. We still are waiting on her name letters and 1 more piece of art. Other than that, I just need to go through all of Sassy's infant clothes, organize, wash, and put them away (a very daunting task-I really like to buy my babies clothes!), and we have a (almost) complete nursery. All we need now is our baby!
