Thanksgiving Fun

This was the only picture I actually took on Thanksgiving. I had big plans of getting a family picture, and it never happened.

Juliet had her class Thanksgiving. We made these cute Turkey legs from pretzels, marshmellows, white chocolate, and rice krispie treats. They were a hit. I love Juliet's pilgrim hat! She was so excited that Leah and I came, and even more excited that she got to leave right after the feast.

Good-Bye Van

We paid off our van this summer. Our babysitter was on her way to pick up Juliet and bring her to speech right before Thanksgiving when someone ran a red light and rammed into her. It was one of the scariest calls I have ever gotten. Juliet wasn't in the car. Our babysitter was sore for a while, but was okay.
We ended up with a brand new Sienna. It has a moon-roof, a DVD player and navigation. The girls really like it.
We went to the junk yard to get everything out of it, and it was so sad sitting in a yard of totaled vehicles. I started taking the chipping paint to remember her by (so many good memories!) and Chris took off the front decal for me. I was so happy. Now we have something to remember her by.

Wicked!

We went and saw Wicked at the Breslin Center in East Lansing just before Thanksgiving. It was Juliet's first Broadway musical. She rocked it out. She is obsessed now, and demands to listen to the soundtrack every time we are in the van. She sings along and is so very intent as she sings. It was the second time I saw it, but this time our seats were much better.

Afterward, we went out and had El Azteco which was amazing, as always. It made a good impression on Leah, too, and she has asked to go back several times since then.

Girl Scout Camp

Leah and I (and 14 other Girls Scouts) spent a really fun day at Camp Linden. I remember going there as a kid, but I didn't recognize the place at all. The kids made a terrarium, sang some songs, and played games with other troops.
We had a really fun day, and arrived home totally tired and ready to watch a movie and relax. We are going back this month.

We (were) With Her

When we took this picture, I thought it was so funny that people actually thought Trump would win. Little did I know...
Juliet was very passionate about Hillary. She drew pictures of her and talked often about all the reasons why she was the best candidate. She wore her buttons on her coat. When we told her Trump won, she cried. Her preschool teacher came in and said, "I just kept thinking about Juliet last night" the day after the election.
It was a weird feeling. At least our millage passed. Our schools will get more money!

Halloween

This year Leah was a skeleton princess and Juliet was a demon. They were both very proud of their costumes and happy to be scary. We were getting ready to go out one day and Leah was telling me, "Why do people even dress up like princesses? Halloween is all about being scary!" I had to gently remind her that she was a princess at 3 (Rapunzel), 4 (Rapunzel bride/Aurora), and 5 (Elsa).
Leah got to go with Chris to the Daddy/Daughter dance at Workman. I was supposed to set up, but totally forgot. Whoops! They had a lot of fun. Next year Juliet will get to go, too.

This year we went to the Trick or Treat Parade at the Summit, as usual. Juliet ran into one of her best friends from Susan's and had fun walking around with her. Her and her family decided to go through the "Haunted House". Juliet and Leah begged to go. I warned them it would be scary, and we probably shouldn't do it. But both girls INSISTED. So in we went. The picture below is Juliet FIFTEEN minutes after we got out. She cried on and off the rest of the night.

There was some 15 year old kid dressed like a zombie that got down to her level and got in her face and growled at her when it was completely obvious that she was petrified. I was so mad that I wrote them a letter about how inappropriate that is.

Our pumpkins this year. Both girls wanted Mickey themed pumpkins after Disney. I  think they turned out pretty well.

Juliet had Dress Like a Farmer day at school. She had a lot of fun.

 Cutest farmer ever.
Now that I am at Leah's school I got to walk the parade with her. I am also a party planner for her class, so we organized a pretty fun Halloween party for her class. She had a lot of fun!

Fall Pictures

When we went to the football game, I noticed a nice little pond area at the high school. We went back on one of the last warm fall days to take pictures. The girls did a good job.

Leah kept asking how she was doing (because I had promised them Olde McDonalds if the cooperated). I told her she was doing a really good job. It was like Juliet had 3 drinks before hand, and then was trying to play it cool and do a good job. We still got some good ones.

I didn't notice Juliet's middle finger until Chris pointed it out to me when our yearly photo book came in the mail.

Football

The poor blog has been neglected lately. I'm going to try to catch up.

We went to one of Trevor's games in October when my dad was here. The girls like going to games because we buy them a ton of junk food. This year Leah was pretty happy because a boy from her class sat in front of us.

Us girls don't know a lot about football, but we are happy to support our cousin/nephew!
