Last weekend we went on our annual Christmas tree pilgrimage to Chelsea to select the perfect tree. Sassy was so excited.
Leah is still intrigued by the horses, she likes to look at them, but doesn't want to touch them. This year she insisted on the horse pulled wagon ride. She was quite thrilled with the ride. Next year she said she wants to ride on the brown horses.
We thought we found the perfect tree, but there was a weird nest inside. We thought it was a bird nest, but wondered what bird would still be nesting in December? Chris poked at it a little and a scared looking mouse came running out. We decided to let the mouse keep his tree, and set off to find another one.
About 1/2 hour later, we did. We were reluctant to wander too far into the farm because of the possibility of J Boo getting too cold, and the fact that Chris would have to pull the tree himself, and Leah isn't the biggest fan of walking for longer distances (she'd prefer to ride, just like her Mommy did!). That limited our selection, and many of the trees we saw were too small.
However, we finally found the perfect tree! The excitement was palpable.
Juliet lost a sock somewhere along the way, and her poor foot was hanging out unexposed. Luckily, a kind stranger alerted me to this fact. I took off my own sock and put it over her foot.
We got home and got ready to decorate the tree. I had aspirations of getting the perfect shot of the girls in their matching Christmas tree shirts, but the entire process of putting up the tree and getting on the lights (all of which were somehow only 1/2 working), took much longer than expected.
So, J Boo stayed in her Christmas tree shirt and Sassy helped decorate the tree dressed like Tangled. She was really into the decorations and was so excited to be helping.
J. Boo was excited, too.
This was the best shot I could get. Both girls look tired. It was a long day, but a really fun day, too!
