Tide-pool Wildlife

The tide-pools were interesting this year. It seemed like every few days there was a surplus of a certain kind of creature. Our first few days were urchins. Leah was brave enough to "pop" them this year and even made a collection (above). Juliet was convinced they were going to run at her and poke her, so she stayed away.
One day there was even a crab that I caught BY MYSELF. I was impressed with my skills. The crab wanted to fight. Leah took a look at him and wanted him dumped far away.
The next few days there were a ton of starfish. Every rock we turned over had one underneath. At first, Juliet was brave enough to touch these. Then, Chris found what looked like a random starfish leg. He picked it up and it was some type of slug that seemed to have soft points all over it. Unfortunately, these points came off pricked Chris pretty good. After that, Juliet wanted nothing to do with the starfish either.

This guy lived by our favorite tide pool and we saw him often.
Another few days had massive amounts of these mini jelly fish thingys. They were really small and moved like a squid or a jellyfish. They were really cute. Leah and Juliet both enjoyed picking up these things and moving them to other tide pools to be back with their "families" (whatever that means). We kept picking them up and saying, "I shall name you Squishy and you shall be mine forever!" just like in Finding Nemo.
