We stayed in a corner unit in our condo. It was so nice to have a balcony and a side view. Here is Juliet with her turtle drawing. She could not decide what she wanted for a souvenir. For the longest time, she wanted a stuffed turtle. When we went shopping on one of the last days, I took her into no less than 10 stores. In each store, she would pick up the turtles, hug them, and put them back saying they didn't feel right. She even drew the perfect turtle. She never found it. She ended up getting a ukulele.
When we first started talking about Maui, both girls really wanted to go to a Hula Show. I looked into Luau's, but quickly discovered that they would be like $400-$500 for all of us, which wouldn't be the biggest deal ever, but Chris and I have never had any interest in going to one. So, I found a place that had free hula shows. The girls watched from this play structure thing, and got to participate a little, too. We had dinner there, too, which was also very good!
During an intermission, someone sang a bunch of Hawaiian songs. Juliet danced for a while, then climbed back up the play structure to hang out with Leah and her friend. Then they started playing a Moana song. It was so funny to see Juliet try to get out of the structure as fast as she could so she could dance again.
We also had dinner at Duke's. We went there several times on our honeymoon (but on Kauai) and I went there twice with my parents in Southern California. I think their food is amazing, so I was excited to go back. We had a great view and the food was really good. The service was slow, though, so the girls and I went to the beach to watch the sunset while Chris finalized the bill.
They wanted pictures of them jumping.
Juliet found whatever this was and pretended it was a baby.
As we were walking home, we played with some feral cats. Maui had a lot of feral cats. There was one that was always in front of our condo complex that I named Noodle. He loved to eat the Macaroni and cheese left overs that we would bring home every time we went out. On the last day, Lili and I brought him out some pepperoni from a pizza. He was most appreciative.
