We were as ready as we could be for the 13 (plus) hour drive down to the Outer Banks. As I put her into the car at 3:45 am, she looked at me sleepily and asked to go back home. Haha. However, Leah did a great job keeping amused with DVD's (including 2 new Elmo's Worlds), books, new crayons, stuffed Sesame Street toys, snacks, juice boxes, and best of all ELMO LIVE. When Leah first got him, she kept hugging and kissing him. She was convinced that we had got her the real Elmo for the car ride. She kept asking, "keep Momo?".
On the way back, she pretty much slept most of the entire trip. When we woke her up at 5 am to get into the car, we asked, "Would you like to go home?" She stood straight up, said, "Brush teeth" and was ready. She fell asleep almost immediately after getting into the car. But, when she awoke, she looked around the packed car, clapped and said, "Yay!!". She was ready to get home--mostly to watch Elmo's World-Penguins, which I had somehow forgot to pack. She asked about it all week.
