Strawberry Picking

This years strawberry picking was kind of a bust. The fields were good, and it wasn't too hot, but Teddy was in NO mood for the event. It was the first time he's ever refused to go along with what we are doing. He cried in the fields, and just wanted to sit in the car and nurse non-stop. I tried a few times to rejoin everyone, but he got upset each time. Oh well.
The kids (but mostly Chris) picked some good strawberries without me. I tried to make a strawberry pie, but the strawberries were so juicy that it was more like a strawberry pie stew. Haha. Chris and I each had a piece and that was it.

I wanted to recreate making Chris make jelly  (and then almost burning the house down), but we didn't have enough. See? It was a bust. At least we kept the tradition alive. Next year hopefully Teddy will be more cooperative and I will remember that fresh juicy strawberries do not make for the best pie.
