Cozumel, Day 1

Brain always gets so sad about us leaving. He sits on our suitcases and just glares at us. We were remembering how when we went to Italy for 2 weeks, he was really mad. Chris called me and told me to come home, but to not be mad at him, because there was a mess that he wasn't going to clean up. Brain had taken a huge dump on my suitcase! I think that says it all.

The trip out was a little rockier than in years past. We were delayed, on the plane, in Detroit for about 3 hours. First there was a 30 minute delay that was unclear as to why there was a delay, then there was only 1 de-icing truck for 6 airplanes. Boo. We made it. Then there was a huge line at Customs that we were not pulled out of (we had been pulled out every other year!). Boo again. We made it. But, then Chris lost his brand new sunglasses so there was another damper. Oh well. We finally made it to the beach. Juliet was convinced that the sand was dirty and had more fun playing in the shower thing you use to rinse the sand off you.
Leah just made a beeline to the ocean and happily played for 2 hours.
Juliet finally left the shower to join her.

The girls were hungry. For some reason both girls got really into eating hot dog buns this trip. Juliet sometimes eats them at home, because that is what we buy to feed the ducks in our neighborhood. She nibbles a little while we are feeding the ducks, but has never asked for one outside of our walks. Leah has never shown any interest in eating a hot dog bun. During this trip, though, they must have each eaten at least 1 hot dog bun per day. We got them a bun, as requested, and Juliet put hers down to play some more in the shower. A flock of sea gulls came and carried the bread away. This is the face Juliet made. We got her another one.
This beach. This is just our family happy spot.
