On the Mend

After Stomach Flu 2015 took each one of us down, we started to play more and just sit less. The girls were the first to be fully recovered, so they've had to entertain each other quite a bit. Chris and I have had slower recoveries, but are almost there. I've been very proud of how the girls have been playing. The ratio of time playing together independently vs tattling on each other has been pretty good.

They've played doctor quite a bit. When you are sick, Dr. Leah will put a baby wipe on your forehead and feed you plastic food made in China. You're welcome.
Leah has been earning chores to get Caroline a new dress. I had nightmares about the American Doll accessories being strewn about the house. This stuff is expensive, and I have every intention of saving it all for her. Just like my mom did for me. Of course, I won't let Leah and Juliet play with Kirsten (my American Girl), but I appreciate that I still have her and all of her gear. :) So, I did something I've never done. I went to Target and bought Leah a nice new toy (a closet for her American Girl) for no reason whatsoever. I have a weird hatred of bring new "stuff" into the house. I'm just fine with art supplies, books, and clothing...but not toys. I hate that the toys are so expensive and do nothing other than clutter up my house. And, my kids lose interest in them within a week.
Of course the closet was fun, but the box was more fun.
