This day started bright and early. The girls were excited to watch the Royal Wedding. Leah was at my bedside at 6 am worried that we had missed it. By 6:30 we were downstairs eating Girl Scout cookies and watching the events. We were at Target a few days prior to this, and Leah asked if I would buy them white dresses to wear as they watched. OF COURSE I WOULD. How could I turn down that type of request!?
When I was a kid my Opi LOVED The Royals. He read all the "rags" about him and loved discussing them. It obviously passed down to me and my sisters. I remember waking up early for Diana's funeral and for William's wedding. I'm glad the girls seem interested, too. It made me feel a little bad, though, half the fun is being brutally honest when you are watching a wedding of people that in you in no way, shape or form, know. Both kids thought I was being mean when I was talking about how I didn't particularly care for Megan's dress and I thought the overall fit was poor. We raised kind girls, though I hope as they get older they can snark *just a little* with me about celebrities.
Chris ended up waking up and watching with us, too. Teddy was very interested, too, of course. The best part was when Chris made me a Momosa.
Later that day we went to the PCCS Art show. Each elementary class has 2 pieces entered (1 boy and 1 girl). Leah somehow got 2 pieces in the show, which we didn't realize until the day before. Leah loves art. It is her THIRD time in the show.
Juliet was REALLY hoping to get in, too, but didn't this year. Fingers crossed for next year! Juliet also LOVES art. It must be hard to pick.
Later that same day we went to Build a Bear for Juliet's year end Girl Scout event. She was so excited. They built a special Girl Scout bear. Juliet thought it was great!
Juliet has such a sweet troop. I hope they stay this way.
We ended up having to zip out a little early because I had somehow locked my car keys INSIDE the van at home. Leah had her very first school friend sleepover and she was more than annoyed that she had to be late because they had to wait for Juliet and I to get home to unlock the van. She ended up being about 30 minutes late but had a great time with her friends.
