2 + 12 Months

Last year I made Sass cupcakes on her 2 month birthday. I did it again this year. I think she really enjoyed it!
Yum!!!

Sassy worked on eating this cupcake for a long time. She got tired by the end! She only left a fewpieces of cake behind. She loved it!

Waiting for Swim Lessons

We are taking weekly swim lessons at the Summit. Leah has always loved water! It is important to us that she becomes a good swimmer.

Swim Lessons

Leah took a minute to take in the scene. Then, she got excited. She was pointing to the water and trying to walk in. We'll take swim lessons every Saturday through December. I think we'll need a winter vacation so Leah can apply her knowledge in a real world setting.

In class we practiced blowing bubbles, kicking, and retrieving objects. Leah enjoyed all the activities. After 25 minutes, she decided she was done. She kept trying to crawl out of the pool and get to Daddy.

Happy Girl!

We named the horse Lucky. Leah loves riding on him! It's a classic!

One Year Pics

We opted to get Leah's one year pictures a couple months late, since we had professional pictures taken in North Carolina.

Here is a link to Leah's "sneak peek". You may have to scroll down the page to see her shots.

Accessorizing

Leah has a thing for sunglasses....have you noticed?

Pumpkins

I made Leah a kitty pumpkin! Leah's favorite animal is a cat, and she is going to be a kitty for Halloween!

Dressing for the Occasion

A first haircut is a pretty big deal. The occasion called for tulle!

Leah pointing to Daddy. Daddy came home early to witness Sassy's first haircut.

First Haircut

Leah needed a haircut before her professional pictures this weekend. I've always been a little weirded out by kids haircut places (like Carnival Cuts), so I asked my salon how much a childrens haircut is. Turns out, it's almost the same price!
Leah was very well behaved during her haircut. She sat still and flirted with all the people around us. Chris can't stop talking about how much he loves the cut. They did a great job! I think she is going to enjoy spa days at the salon with her mommy as she gets older!

Applesauce

Leah has been more interested in feeding herself lately. This time I let her try to feed herself applesauce...

Plymouth

Lili enjoyed her Mexican food dinner (especially the guac,as usual) and looking at the scarecrows in downtown Plymouth. It was the perfect day!

Smith Park

We headed out to Smith Park this weekend to enjoy the lovely weather and celebrate sweetest day. We had fun at the park. Sassy kept her tongue out the entire time! Look! Mama doesn't have two toned hair anymore! I went to Ashka in Canton. It was a lovely experience!
Lili liked crawling through the tunnels the best. Chris sat at one end, and I sat at the other. She crawled back and forth, back and forth.

Recommended for Ages 2 and Up

I got Leah a toy stacker last month so she could practice her fine motor skills. She's been practicing regularly. This weekend, she managed to stack every ring completely independently!

Lili was feeling quite proud of herself!
The ball on the top is still tricky! She prefers to just throw it at Ruggie and laugh (we are discouraging this).

Sleeping Beauty

Leah got sick with Hand, Foot, and Mouth. She has little blisters inside her mouth. The doctor says she should be fine in a few days. Eating has been painful for Sassy, so she has been enjoying eating ice cream and twizzlers. Leah knows Daddy doesn't like her eating candy, so as soon as she gets a twizzler, she goes off in search of Daddy and gleefully waves the candy in his face.

Baby Lucas

Baby Lucas was born 10-10-10. We went to see him at the St. Joes. We brought along some books and a pumpkin picked especially for Lucas. Leah was excited to snack on the pumpkin, but not super excited to give it up.

Baby Luke, Leah and me! Luke is very smart and charming. He and Leah will have fun chasing kitties together one day!

Annual Mommy and Me Corn Stalk Picture!
This year Leah got to help pick out her pumpkin. She walked up to this pumpkin and hugged it. It's a winner!

Pumpkin Patch-Now and Then

Feeling Like Herself Again!

Plymouth Orchards

We went to Plymouth Orchards last weekend. It is the pefect apple orchard--nice and close and really well maintained. We looked at farm animals, went on a wagon ride, and played in a field of pumpkins.Leah was very excited about her first wagon ride. Her excitement faded during the ride, though, and the only thing that would occupy her was to throw rocks off the wagon.
Here we are in the "You Pick" Pumpkin Patch. It was a field of pumpkins that obviously did not grow in there. This is the same type of "You Pick" pumpkin you could get from Kroger. We knew this was a scam, so we didn't buy a pumpkin.

Leah really enjoyed playing on the pumpkins in the patch. I love the picture below. My baby looks so big!
