Dance Recital Day

Leah was super excited for her dance recital day. Her recital song was "When you Wish Upon a Star". She kept saying, "This is MY special day" to Juliet, which, naturally, completely annoyed Juliet. We got her all dressed and put on lots of make-up and Leah kept staring at herself in the mirror, posing and making kissy faces.
I asked Leah how she wanted to pose, and she posed like this. I love it.

This day was also Princess and Pirate day at school, so Leah was pretty tired. She fell asleep on the way there. I've never seen a cuter ballerina. The clip on her car-seat also needed to be moved up.
They had a "red carpet" for pictures. Leah thought it was pretty cool. Lately she has been telling me she wants to be on TV and famous.
We had super close seats this year. We were in the second row, which had advantages and disadvantages. I liked that Leah could actually see us when she danced, but it was tricky to see her when they were deeper into the stage.
Leah gave not-so-gentle reminders that she wanted flowers from everyone in attendance. She was holding all of her flowers saying, "It's just like I'm famous!" It was pretty cute. We had fun watching the bigger kids dance, and were pretty impressed with some of the talent. It seemed to go a little longer this year, and didn't end until after 9:00. By the time we got home, had a snack (we all had to skip dinner to get to the HS by 5:30), it was 10:30 before we could even give Leah a shower. Leah is super excited to return to dance next year. She has her heart set on taking 2 dance classes. Juliet is READY to dance, too, she she will probably join a 3/4 class, too.
