Chicago -- Navy Pier

So Chris had a really big trial in Chicago in August. We had planned on going to St. Louis to see the eclipse in totality, so we ended up dropping C off in Chicago and spending 1 night having some fun, then driving to St. Louis the next day as a girls only trip. We got into Chicago around early evening, so we decided to go to Navy Pier to eat and let the kids play. They were very excited when the saw the giant Ferris wheel and rides.
Here is Daddy and Juliet in the Ferris Wheel. Juliet was scared to go in, and I had to bet her a "paper dollar" that it would't be scary. She wasn't sure at all, but had a lot of fun once she was inside. We had a great view of the city skyline at night.
We let each girl pick one other ride to go on. I really wanted Leah to go on the swings with me, since that was my favorite ride as a kid. She told me that was much too scary. It turns out she wasn't quite tall enough anyway. She ended up being the only kid on this thing. She thought it was fun.

Juliet picked the Merry-go-round and Chris rode with her since she was too short to go alone. Look at how much they love each other.
We were going to stay for the fireworks, but Chris knew he had a hellish few weeks ahead, and wanted to go back. The girls were okay with that. We said we would try to see them again, but never did. Oh well. We've seen fireworks before.
