November 2019

Well, this month is out of order. But I'm giving myself points for going back 9 months in order to update (thanks, quarantine!), so whatever.

Let's look back at November....

We went on the Polar Express! This was such a great family experience. Apparently tickets go on sale in Spring, so we were pretty behind buying tickets in September. We sat on the second level of a car, single file. Next year we will get better tickets. But, either way, we had a great time. There were games and hot chocolate on the train. The village had a ton of fun activities (and was super weird--but pretty much in a good/funny way). We saw chainsaw art, rode rides, went on carriage ride, pet reindeer and goats, did some shopping, and had some yummy snacks. The kids had so much fun the entire time. I think it will be a new tradition!

 Teddy loved the goats!

After we left the Polar Express, Leah started crying because she knew the next day she was going to get her tonsils out. I'm not going to lie--it was a hard, emotional experience for all of us (obviously mostly for Leah). But, Leah is STRONG. While there were a few hiccups in her recovery, she was amazing. We were so proud of her. Since her tonsils have been out, she hasn't been sick ONE TIME. No more chronic joint pain. No strep throat. It was the right decision.
About a week past her surgery, Leah insisted on getting a Christmas tree on our usual weekend. She didn't want to miss out on this tradition. I think she just couldn't wait another week for her elf family to come back. There was a surprise this year when we learned our elves, Buddy and Holly, had welcomed a BABY while they were away from us. They brought back a baby girl elf named Merry.

 Teddy loves tractors!
Juliet's Girl Scout troop had a painting party!
 Leah's troop went rock climbing!

It snowed! In November. So much that we had a snow day!
Poor Teddy had no gloves or mittens purchased yet, so he had to wear socks over his hands.

Juliet's Girl Scout troop made bags of kids at homeless shelters.
